WINTER TIME IN APPLE VALLEY

Staying in the rig while parked at my daughter's place in Apple Valley has giving me some great photo ops. I am usually up before the sun and when I open the shades and look out at the eastern skies, I have been greeted with some amazing views.

December usually brings around cold weather and this year there was snow on the mountains that I could see through my coach window.

On frosty mornings, after the winds have blown during the night, we have found our vehicles decorated with very fancy designs.

MOUNTAIN MAGIC

The first day of November found me enjoying the scenery along the stretch of I-5 between the town of Weed and Lake Shasta. My daughter,  son-in-law and I were returning to Apple Valley from Salem Oregon, where we had spent several days visiting with my son and his family. While we were there, we did "Christmas in October". It was cold enough to feel like Christmas. The views of  Mount Shasta were spectacular and it was already is getting its winter coat of snow.

All along roadway we could see that Fall was in full bloom. Some of the clouds were hanging low to make it even more picturesque.

Even the trees at the Rest Stops were wearing their Fall Colors for our enjoyment.

The water level in Lake Shasta VERY low, but that makes lots of storage space for the winter rains the we ALL are anticipating.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

SAN DIEGO SUMMER REVIEW

What a summer this has been! Staying at Santee Lakes Campground for five months has been a very pleasant experience to say the least. Not only did I make new friends with those in the campground, but I spent some time with friends from the past.

Various adventures and events were happening one after another and much time putting together slide presentations (22 total) along with slow Internet connections that I did not do much posting to this blog. So this post will be an attempt to catch up with stuff that I did not post about this past summer.

CHICANO PARK
Located under the approach bridge to the Coronado Bridge in San Diego in Barrio Logan there is a collection of Chicano art that was painted on the many support pillars for the bridge. The locals worked hard to get a park that had been promised them for years. When it was finally built, the same locals pained around 100 beautiful and meaningful murals for all to see.
